Morayfield, a burgeoning hub in Moreton Bay, is set to see significant enhancements aimed at meeting the needs of its growing community, particularly young families. Recently, Morayfield Projects submitted a Development Application (DA) to construct a 150-place childcare centre and swim school on Oakey Flat Rd, near Jonkers Court. This initiative addresses the rising demand for childcare facilities in the area.

The proposed swim school will include a 25-metre pool and supporting amenities, designed for public use. While awaiting approval, the project is anticipated to revitalize currently under-utilized land, serving as a focal point for both the nearby residential estates on Oakey Flat Rd and the large retail centers along Morayfield Rd.

The childcare centre is poised to benefit residents of the newly developed Morayfield Landing estate, conveniently located just a 3-minute drive or a short 17-minute walk from Carol Street, Morayfield. This area is seeing a surge in new rentals, thanks to the partnership between Current Real Estate and Morayfield Landing developers.

In neighbouring Burpengary, exciting developments are also underway. The Caboolture Environment Education Centre has recently unveiled a large Adventure Playground, offering a natural and engaging play space for children. Families can also enjoy the playgrounds and sensory garden or look for wildlife on the walking trail.

Additionally, construction has begun on the Burpengary East Shopping Centre, slated to house a Woolworths, diverse retail outlets, a plaza featuring al fresco dining options, and a dedicated children’s play area. This development is scheduled for completion by late 2025.
